We are delighted to see the strong level of early interest in the 2026 Professional Driver World Championship (PDWC), which will take place in Eppelheim near Heidelberg, Germany.

Already, 21 countries have expressed their intention to participate, demonstrating the growing global recognition of the PDWC as the premier international competition dedicated to professional commercial drivers.

The Professional Driver World Championship brings together the best drivers from around the world to compete in demanding skill-driving and eco-driving competitions, showcasing the highest standards of professional driving. Participants demonstrate their ability to operate commercial vehicles with precision, responsibility, and efficiency while applying advanced driving techniques that contribute to reduced fuel consumption, improved road safety, and lower operating costs for transport operators.

Participation in the PDWC is not based on open individual registration. Instead, drivers qualify through structured national programmes. Professional drivers earn the opportunity to compete at the world championship through national competitions and qualification pathways organised by UICR member associations and their recognised partners.

These national championships identify the most skilled and safety-conscious professional drivers in each country. The top performers progress to represent their nation at the Professional Driver World Championship, forming national teams that compete for international recognition. Competitors take part in six vehicle categories, with drivers competing for category titles as well as the prestigious overall title of Professional Driver World Champion.

All participation and qualification procedures are conducted in accordance with the Rules and Guidelines of the UICR Professional Driver World Championship, ensuring fairness, transparency, and the highest professional standards across all participating countries.
